


Amb Jean Kimani during a side event on Rescuing SDG 11 for a Resilient Urban Planet organized by UN-Habitat where she was a panelist.
She emphasized on the importance of SDG 11 and noted that since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, Kenya has committed to its domestication of the local setting and the implantation of the Vision 2030 and MTP 11.
The targets are key priorities of BETA in particular housing, a key driver of the National and Social Economic Development.
On housing; its more than a roof over our heads and it is interlinked with the achievement of other global goals; Access to clean water, Security, Good health and the quality of life for the people.
The government intends to deliver 200,000 houses annually under the Affordable Housing Programme and has introduced the Housing Fund that was passed by Parliament.
During the Habitat Assembly Kenya sponsored a resolution on Adequate Housing which seeks to address adequate housing as central to promoting sustainable cities and communities
