I take this opportunity to welcome you to the official website of the Kenya Permanent Mission to the UN Habitat. We hope that you will find the website useful as it provides information and news on our work as the Kenya Mission to UN-Habitat mandated to strengthen International cooperation with special focus on promotion of sustainable urbanization and human settlements.
The website seeks to ensure that the mission delivers on its mandate and is able to serve the interests of all in line with Kenya`s Foreign policy. Our website also celebrates Kenya`s rich and diverse history, showcases the Government’s transformational agenda especially the Big 4 Agenda on affordable housing and Kenya`s vision 2030 Agenda.

Background
The Permanent Mission of The Republic of Kenya to the United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN-HABITAT) was established in 1979 with the mandate of performing diplomatic representational and multilateral duties pertaining to human settlement matters on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kenya.
The Mission is committed to serve all and promote linkages between the Government of Kenya and the United Nations. Kenya is Host to the United Nations Offices in Nairobi (UNON) and the headquarters of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme(UN-Habitat) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Core functions
The Kenya Permanent Mission to UN-Habitat represents Kenya's interests within the UN system, working in partnership with other member states to enhance UN-HABITAT functions and roles as the principal UN body in the field of sustainable urbanization and human settlements.
The Mission aims to champion all matters pertaining to strengthened international relations with a particular focus on the promotion of Sustainable Urbanization and Human Settlements.
